Quality is always assured at Il Corda, with an incredibly talented dynamic duo, sat firmly at the helm. Japanese Head Chef Shinji Masto, has over 25 years of experience within several well established Italian and French restaurants in Japan. He was among only a handful of Japanese artisanal steak chefs who popularized the challenging technique of charcoal-grilled steak and developed his own unique methods of beef grilling. In essence, charcoal-grilling requires meticulous technique and control, but the result is rewarding beyond words; a master of this method, Chef Masto was able to create a must eat in Ho Chi Minh, the juiciest, most fragrant steaks you will ever savour. Il Corda’s Japanese sommelier Tetsuya Jo, has over 20 years of experience in Japan and holds strong beliefs in Omotenashi

Guests experience first-hand the kindred Japanese concept of Omotenashi; immaculate customer service fueled by selflessness and an utmost attention to detail. Omotenashi is free of pretentiousness; the very person who provides the service to his guest understands deeply the needs of his guests from the guest’s perspective. The Japanese-trained local waitstaff are fluent in English, Japanese and Vietnamese, assuring a dining experience free of language barriers.
