International School Saigon Pearl

Many parents put a lot of thought and deliberation into choosing the right international early-years education and elementary school for their children. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed about deciding between the many schooling options available in Ho Chi Minh City, you're not alone. However, in Saigon, this concern is allayed with International School Saigon Pearl (ISSP), a world-class, purpose-built institution of learning for students between the ages of 18 months to 11 years old.

ISSP

International Accreditation and Educational Philosophy at ISSP

One of the top international pre- and elementary schools in Vietnam, ISSP offers an international curriculum based on American Common Core State standards, and is the only Early Years and Elementary international school in Ho Chi Minh City that is fully accredited by both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), two of the most prestigious international accreditation organisations.

ISSP

ISSP’s Campus

Located in Saigon Pearl Complex, Binh Thanh District along the Saigon river, about 5 minutes away from the city centre, the campus features the latest in classroom technology and IT infrastructure with iPads, interactive whiteboards, a dedicated IT specialist, and ICT lab. An Innovation Hub allows the delivery of a 360° integrated technology programme that creates an opportunity for individualised learning for all students.

ISSP also features a Library Media Center with over 18,000 English books, digital learning resources, and a full-time librarian. The Arts are also amply catered for, with specialist rooms for Visual Art, Music, and Dance. These are complemented by the latest athletic and recreational facilities including age-appropriate play areas, a soft play gymnasium, sports field, and swimming pool.

ISSP

Featuring a language hub with dedicated English as an Additional Language (EAL) teachers, the EAL department at ISSP plays an important role in welcoming and supporting children from a wide variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. In keeping with its culture as an international school, over 30 different nationalities are represented at ISSP.

Those students also have over 45 interest groups to choose from, with sporting clubs each semester that allow students to explore their talent and enhance their creative, cultural, and athletic capacities with like-minded students.

ISSP

ISSP’s campus follows strict safeguarding standards to provide the safest possible learning experience for all students, staff, and visitors. They take their responsibilities for safeguarding very seriously and aim to ensure that each student feels that they have a trusted adult that they can communicate their concerns or worries to.

Personalised Learning and Character Development at ISSP

Inspired by the Reggio-Emilia philosophy, ISSP’s Early Years teaching approach provides a wealth of experiences to develop a love of learning in every child. Understanding that no two children are alike, every ISSP student is treated as a unique individual. With outstanding academic results and over 85% of ISSP students achieving above grade level English and Mathematics scores in worldwide Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) testing, it’s clear that the school has succeeded in its personalised education approach.

In addition, ISSP’s core values, honesty, caring, respect, responsibility and wisdom, are integrated in the school’s culture, which means the lessons are not just limited to the classroom. As a result, students adopt the mindset of being lifelong learners, culturally aware and responsible global citizens.

ISSP’s Bottom Line

With its investment in restorative practice training for teachers, staff, students and the community, ISSP promotes the concept of “feeling good and doing good” by focusing on specific skills that assist students to strengthen their relationships, build positive emotions, enhance resilience, promote mindfulness and encourage a healthy lifestyle.

ISSP

International School Saigon Pearl is not only a school, but a family, caring for students with rigorous safety and academic standards, and preparing them to become productive and responsible members of society.
