Can Tho City’s important position in the Delta - both geographically and socioeconomically - make it a hub of culture, history and activity. Naturally, there is larger variety of places to see in Can Tho than most other cities in the Mekong. Besides the peaceful commotion of market life and the famous Ninh Kieu pier, there is the beautiful Can Tho Cathedral, “ancient houses” - or home built in the 19th century that are of architectural and historical value (such as the Binh Thuy ancient house), Khmer temples, pagodas (like the Nam Nha Pagoda, recognized for its place during revolutionary times), and many nature-related attractions throughout.
