There are plenty of options when it comes to shopping in Can Tho. If you are simply looking for fresh fruit and veg then it has to be Cai Rang Floating Market. Not only is the produce of high quality but the market has to be experienced, it is a riot of noise, colour and river activity that hasn’t changed for generations.
To stock up on general provisions there is a Big C Supermarket. For inexpensive clothing, souvenirs and bric a brac the night market and along Hai Ba Trung is the best place to be. The whole riverfront has a lovely atmosphere about it in the evenings. Local people turn out with their families to stroll along what looks like an almost Mediterranean sea front.
Can Tho’s first shopping Mall opened to the public at the start of 2014. Owned by Vietnam’s largest retailer Saigon Co-op, the Sense City Mall offers 22,000 square metres of mixed shopping, food courts, ten pin bowling and cinemas. There are a couple of bookstores including one real gem, right next to Can Tho University.
