If you’re riding out for a picnic at Golden Stream Lake (officially Dan Kia Lake), or just cruising along the winding roads and soaking in the greener-than-green Dalat flora, you may want to stop by the dam, which presents a peaceful little photo-op. You may catch families parking their motorbikes nearby to take pictures, or settling down for a small picnic. While the area is a bit dirty for a picnic (there are better spots along the lake), you can climb along the dam for a selfie or two, or gaze out on the mirror-like lake.
There is a rusty white walkway, which is usually gated at the top, but it’s a low obstacle you can easily climb over, just be careful. Walking to the end of the narrow walkway gives you a nice vantage of Golden Stream Lake.
And a pretty view of the other side of the dam.
Dalat is full of tranquil, unlisted spots like this dam. The best way to find them tends to be by accident, which is how we happened upon this location.
Here’s a nice shot of Golden Stream Lake while standing directly on the dam.
