food - Saigon/HCMC: March 20, 2019

On March 21, more than five-thousand head chefs around the world will join Goût de France - Good France, serving more than 2,500 authentic French dinners with canapés, entreés, main courses, cheese, desserts, and wine.

This is the fifth time this culinary event occurs globally to celebrate and share French gastronomy with the world. Those who have a passion for French food, or even those who are just curious about why the country’s food culture is so renowned, will have a chance to taste the best of France at numerous restaurants around Saigon.

Vietnam is one of five countries that have the largest numbers of participating restaurants: fifty-five restaurants in total throughout the country.

French Provençal Cuisine at Saigon’s Top Restaurants

This year’s event focuses on the region of Provence, located in the southeast of France. The chefs of the participating restaurants will devise menus inspired by this area. Each set-menu will feature appetizers, main courses, cheese and desserts; it will be accompanied by wine pairings and champagne.

Beyond promoting French culture, the 2019 edition of Goût de France focuses on sustainable development while promoting responsible gastronomy and the commitment of chefs to protect the environment and reduce the usage of plastic. The menus will follow the strict requirements regarding the use of materials from France and Vietnam, while ensure hygiene and food safety at high-grade restaurant standards.
