Ho Chi Minh City - Mid-Autumn Festival (Tet Trung Thu)
Vietnamese culture is a culture of festivals. One of these is Mid-Autumn Festival known as Tet Trung Thu. With this tour, you will have the opportunity to understand more about traditional culture and Vietnamese people during the festival.
17h00 - We will start our tour at a local house where you will learn how to makemoon cakesunder the guidance of local people. You will be very surprised to see how many ingredients are needed and how complicated is the process in making these special cakes. We will spend approximately one and a half hour for this event. Then, we will say goodbye to the local people and go to a restaurant where you can view the decoration, especially for this event. The restaurant is decorated full of colorful lanterns, candles and traditional music. On the way, you can see many small stalls displaying and selling moon cakes along the streets. You will have the opportunity taste and enjoy the delicious local food as well as the Moon Cakes you have made earlier. After dinner, we will take a short walk at Luong Nhu Hoc Street where we can see a lot of interesting and traditional things used for the festival, such as: drums, lantern, Earth God’s mask, lion dances, etc… If you take the tour on Aug 14 or Aug 15 of the Chinese Calendar, you will enjoy seeing lion dances and giving tips to the lion team. Back to the Hotel.
