As with all major cities, tours in Ho Chi Minh City are a popular way of seeing the city and learning a bit of the history as you go. They vary immensely, with everything from specific venues to general walkabouts. Ho Chi Minh City tours are here to stay and really worth checking out.

To learn a little bit about the recent history of Vietnam, take a tour round the Reunification Palace. Tours here are extremely inexpensive and absolutely fascinating. Everything inside the former President’s Palace was left exactly as it was on that fateful day on 30 April 1975 when the tanks burst through the gates signalling the end of the Vietnam War. The grounds have tanks and heavy artillery on display.

One tour that remains ever popular is going out to see the Cu Chi Tunnels. About an hour from the centre of town this Saigon tour tells the story of the amazing network of tunnels used by the Vietcong against the Allied forces in the Vietnam war. The soldiers lived underground for months at a time, occasionally venturing out at night to forage for food and munitions. More died from disease than gunfire.

City walking tours in Saigon are always popular. You can choose from different areas of the city that want to see and the guides will pick the best routes and fill you in on all the facts about the particular buildings. These can take in the famous Ben Thanh Market, Cholon (Chinatown), The French colonial buildings and many many more.

Vietnam Classic Car does Ho Chi Minh City tours in vintage cars, adding a bit of class and luxury to you trip round the city. This is a really cool way of seeing all the sights. Taking a cyclo is another alternative. These three wheeler bikes have a double seat at the front, the driver sits behind pedalling you around the city. Alternative why not get out of the traffic chaos and take a riverboat tour. These vary from day time trips up and down the river to evening cruises with dinner. These offer a completely different perspective of Vietnam’s largest City.
