The first restaurant to serve explicitly to tourists in Vietnam when it opened in 1992, the cosy Mermaid serves high quality Vietnamese food without the frills. Many of the dishes are original creations - try the featured dish, squid stuffed with pork and vegetables.
The owner and operator, Ms. Vy, also serves up her specialities at Cargo Club and Morning Glory, which are more upscale options in the centre of town; and at The Market, a unique food court where she also runs her cooking classes.
