Just behind the resorts that line the center of white-sand Ninh Chu Beach, this impressive temple complex is one of the most picturesque cultural sites in the area. The Truc Lam Vien Ngo temple complex begins at the base of a large hill and sprawls up its side in an array of delicate pagodas, temples and imposing statues.
A Buddhist complex, the Truc Lam Vien Ngo temples are a place of tranquility and spiritual history, in which visitors can take time to reflect as they catch a glimpse of peaceful Buddhist life. At the base of the hill you will find the complex’s main Buddha statue and pagoda, with its sweeping roofs fringed in clean white.
We recommend a walk up the hill, only 5 to 10 minutes, to explore the complex’s other structures and take in the beautiful view of Ninh Chu Beach to the east and a maze of farmland and wineries to the west. At the top of the hill is a monastery, perhaps the highlight of the entire complex, which looks over the adjacent bay and out to a deep blue horizon.
